Engaging LAPPA - Fall Conference

In Spring LAPPA Conference  at New Orleans, organized by Tulane University, participation fell short of organizers' expectations. Some participants and some members have offered suggestions to reengage LAPPA community. As we embark on this task, we'd like to engage our fellow Facilities Administrators' interests in various aspects of LAPPA.

As a first order of business, please let us know what your level of interest is, in attending the Fall conference at Monroe. Please send an email to with your comments and suggestions. Also, take a moment to answer the poll question about your interest in attending the conference.

Forward this link/memo to fellow administrators in your organization and your peer institutions. Over the last two years, various factors have affected member interest - budget cuts, changes in organizations, even institutional name changes have bounced emails. We'd like to enlist your help in engaging our colleagues and making LAPPA a vibrant organization.

Conference Registration Date Extended

When the invitations went out in March, 'RSVP by' was listed as May 5, 2011. This date has now been extended to May 10 13, 2011 to accommodate new members and late inquiries.

If you have not had a chance to register yet, you have a few more days to register and send the forms to Mike Guidry.

Spring Conference 2011 - Invitation

Dear Facility Colleagues,

My name is Stan Silverii, LAPPA President 2010-2011. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you and all facilities personnel across the State to join LAPPA (Louisiana Association of Physical Plant Administrators). The LAPPA organization welcomes all facility related professionals in K-12, Higher Education, and State facilities management. We invite participation from all levels of management and various industry leaders. In opening the lines of communication, we may be able to assist each other in providing insight to the day-to-day hurtles that we all face in facility operations.

On Thursday, May 19 & Friday, May 20, LAPPA will be hosting the 2011 Spring Conference in New Orleans. Vendors are invited to set up booths in order to provide information on their products and/or services. Sessions will be held by various professionals on a variety of topics in our industry.
